Can you tell me a price over the phone?
Not honestly. Paint depth and defect mapping change the work required, so the car is assessed first and then quoted.
PPF or ceramic coating?
They solve different problems. Film stops stone chips; coating protects gloss and makes the car easier to keep clean. Many cars get full-body film with coating over the top.
Do you collect and deliver?
Yes, across Pretoria. Enclosed transport further afield by arrangement.
Why does detailing take two working days?
Because each stage is checked before the next one starts: decontamination, paint-depth readings, defect mapping, then cut, refine, and finish. Paint protection film takes a minimum of five working days. We will not rush a stage to hit a date.
Does every car need paint correction?
No. Correction removes clear coat, and clear coat does not grow back. The paint-depth readings and the defect map decide how far to go, and on some cars the honest answer is very little. The defects are agreed with you before a pad touches the paint.
Why measure paint depth?
The clear coat on a modern car is thin, and every polishing pass takes a little of it away. Readings across every panel show where there is room to correct and where there is not. We do not correct paint we cannot afford to lose.
Will ceramic coating stop stone chips?
No. A coating bonds chemically with the clear coat. It resists UV, lets water and road dirt release easily, and adds depth to the finish, but a stone at highway speed goes straight through it. Paint protection film is the physical barrier: it takes the chip so the paint does not.
Should the paint be corrected before it is coated or filmed?
Usually, yes. Coating and film both seal the surface as it is, so swirl marks left underneath stay there. The assessment shows whether correction is needed first, and how far it should go.
What does self-healing film mean?
Light scratches in the top layer of the film close up with heat, from the sun or warm water. A deep cut or a stone strike that tears the film will not heal. The film has done its job, and that section needs replacing.
Which parts of the car should get film?
Most owners choose full-body film, so every painted panel is covered. Where less makes sense, film goes on the surfaces that meet the road first: bonnet, front bumper, mirrors, and headlights. It depends on how the car is driven and kept, and we talk it through at the assessment.
Can leather and Alcantara be cleaned without damage?
Yes, with the right method for each. Leather, Alcantara, and trim are cleaned and protected with products suited to the material. Alcantara is the one to be careful with: the wrong brush or too much liquid flattens it, so it is cleaned gently and left to dry properly.
Can my car be detailed while it is stored with you?
Yes. Detailing can be arranged while the car is in The Vault, with no collection and redelivery in between. The Care and Elite storage tiers carry 5% and 10% off our services.
